2016 wasn’t the most pleasant year for most people. But, before we begin a New Year we need to put the old year behind us. As New Year’s Eve quickly approaches, it is very important to keep the following safety tips in mind to make sure you can enjoy your night.
Although this would be considered a “common sense” rule, it is still important to mention, DON’T LEAVE YOUR DRINK ANYWHERE! Many times individuals are not aware about their surrounding and have the tendency to put their drink down where it can be accessed by anyone, this could be very dangerous. Always make sure to keep your alcohol with yourself. In case you have to go to the restroom, be mindful and either take it with you or give it to a close friend or someone you trust. But whatever you do, do not leave your drink at a table. Even though New Year’s Eve celebration is really fun it can also be very dangerous when it comes to someone chugging your drink while it is unsupervised. Whenever you are popping a bottle of champagne, be sure to point the cork away from people. This might sound amusing, then again; it is a serious issue, and it is all fun and games until someone loses an eye!
Driving Under The Influence:
Another important point to consider is whatever you do this New Year’s Eve, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE! Whether or not you think you just had a couple of drinks it is a bad idea to do so, ensure that you have booked an Uber ride or an assigned driver who can drive you back home safely. You might think that you are really not that “drunk”, but you could be wrong! To avoid any unforeseen accidents, have someone responsible and sober drive you around. It wouldn’t be considered safe if your selected driver had a couple of drinks with you; make sure the driver you choose to ride with is alcohol free for the night.
Attending Public Events:
Being New Year’s Eve, it’s highly likely that you are going to parties and other New Year’s activities. While being at these types of functions, beware of what is going on around you at all times! This is really important as you might be consuming alcohol around lots of people you don’t know in an area you’ve probably never been. Always go with a group of friends, to these types of places as that is a safe thing to do. Whenever you attend public parties be sure to carry your cell phone just in case anything negative occurs.
Don’t carry fireworks or guns:
This is imposed by law with regards to New Year’s Eve celebrations. If you are intending to engage with fireworks, leave it up to the experts. Because if you get caught with fireworks this New Year’s Eve, it may lead to more than just a fine; it could possibly lead you to jail!
Always be in a group:
If you’re planning on going anywhere for the New Year’s Eve holiday, tag your friends along with you! Whenever you go to any kind of party or event, don’t go solo! This is very important with regards to ladies going out, always be with your friends group!
Safety for your Pet:
Nothing terrifies your pets more than unexpected loud noises. Special care must be provided so that your cats or dogs won’t try to escape in a panic. Frightened, running animals can get hit by cars, cause accidents, and become lost…not to mention, often bite people.
So these were a few safety tips to keep in mind to have a safe and sound start to a happy 2017.
Hope you have a Safe New Year! 🙂
